Our Story

Bold Birch began in 2018 when our founders recognised a troubling pattern: talented professionals struggling with personal finances, young adults entering the workforce without basic budgeting skills, and children growing up without understanding how money actually works.

We set out to change that narrative. Starting with a single evening class in central Birmingham, we've grown into a comprehensive financial education centre serving learners from age 7 to 70.

Our approach combines academic rigour with practical application. Every concept we teach connects directly to real-world situations our students face, from managing pocket money to planning retirement portfolios.

What Drives Us

Our commitment extends beyond classroom walls. We believe financial confidence transforms lives, relationships, and communities.

Accessibility

Financial education should not be exclusive to the privileged few. We structure our courses and pricing to welcome learners from all backgrounds.

Practicality

Theory matters, but application matters more. Every lesson includes hands-on exercises that students can implement immediately in their own lives.

Integrity

We teach principles, not products. Our instructors never recommend specific financial products or receive commissions from financial institutions.

Our Teaching Philosophy

Traditional financial education often fails because it treats money as an abstract concept. Numbers on a page. Formulas to memorise. We take a different path.

Our curriculum builds from emotional intelligence outward. Before teaching compound interest, we explore why saving feels difficult. Before discussing investment strategies, we examine risk tolerance and personal values.

This foundation makes technical knowledge stick. Students don't just learn what to do with money—they understand why certain approaches align with their goals and circumstances.

Our Impact

Since opening our doors, we've welcomed over 2,400 students through our programmes. Families report improved communication about money. Young adults describe feeling prepared for financial independence. Business owners credit our workshops with helping them understand cash flow and growth planning.

We measure success not by course completions, but by the lasting changes our students make. Follow-up surveys show that 87% of graduates implement at least three new financial habits within six months of completing their course.

The Team Behind Your Education

Our instructors bring diverse backgrounds in banking, investment management, accountancy, and financial planning. Each has completed additional training in educational methodology, ensuring they can communicate complex ideas clearly to learners of all ages.

Beyond credentials, we select instructors who share our passion for demystifying finance. They understand that a confused student reflects a teaching gap, not a learning limitation.

Community Involvement

Each year, we partner with Birmingham schools to deliver free financial literacy workshops. These sessions introduce fundamental concepts to students who might not otherwise access financial education.

We also collaborate with local businesses to provide employee financial wellness programmes, recognising that financial stress affects workplace performance and wellbeing.
